The challenge
A board that feeds heavy loads must survive what happens in the field: reverse polarity, a short on the output and prolonged overload. It also has to talk to the rest of the system.
What we built
- Two MOSFET-based PWM power channels: one for lighting and one for heating, each with a fuse and current measurement.
- Input protection and an internal supply.
- A CAN interface with a 120 Ω terminator that can be connected or disconnected.
- Field configuration by DIP switches, and marked test points for the technician.
The result
A protected power board that integrates into the system over CAN and is ready for production.
